How to Post a Job for Free and Hire Local Talent Fast

EZZlisting
An EZZlisting job posting page — post jobs 100% free, no credit card required

Hiring shouldn't cost you money before you've even met a candidate. Most job boards charge per job post, per click, or push you into a paid plan to be seen. On EZZlisting.com you can post jobs for free — full-time roles, part-time shifts, and one-off gigs — with no credit card required and no paid tier, ever.

Here's how the Local Jobs board works and how to write a job posting that brings in qualified local applicants.

Jobs vs. gigs

You can post two kinds of listings:

  • Jobs are ongoing positions: full-time, part-time, contract, temporary, or internship. Job posts stay up for 60 days.
  • Gigs are one-off pieces of work — help with a move, a weekend event, a single design project. Gig posts stay up for 30 days.

Not sure which one fits? A job is someone you plan to keep; a gig is a task with an end date.

What job seekers see

Every job posting gets its own page, built the way people already expect from big job sites:

  • Job title, your business name and logo, and a Verified badge if you're verified
  • Job details — pay, job type, location (or Remote), and the apply-by date
  • The full job description
  • An About the employer section linking to your business profile
  • An Apply form, plus an optional email address for applicants who prefer email

Job seekers can search by job title and ZIP code or city, and filter by distance, jobs vs. gigs, remote or on-site, job type, date posted, and whether pay is listed.

Your job postings also include JobPosting structured data, which helps them appear in Google's job search results — at no cost to you.

How to post a job, step by step

1. List your business (free)

Job posts belong to a business profile, so applicants can see who's hiring. If you don't have one yet, create your free listing.

2. Go to Jobs in your dashboard

Choose Job or Gig, then fill in the details.

3. Write a clear job title

Use the title people actually search for: "Barista," "Front Desk Receptionist," "Web Developer." Avoid internal titles like "Customer Happiness Ninja" — nobody searches for them.

4. Add pay

Postings that show a pay range get more applicants, and seekers can filter for "Shows pay." Enter an hourly rate, a salary range, or a flat rate for gigs.

5. Set the location

Add the city and ZIP code where the work happens, or mark the job Remote. Location powers the "within X miles" search, so accuracy matters.

6. Write the job description

A strong job description covers:

  • About the role — two or three sentences on what the person will do day to day
  • Responsibilities — a short bulleted list
  • Requirements — must-haves only; move nice-to-haves to a separate list
  • Schedule — hours, shifts, weekends
  • Why work here — pay, perks, team, growth

Plain language and specific keywords ("part-time cashier in Glendale, weekend shifts") help your post show up in both on-site search and search engines.

7. Publish

Your job goes live on the Local Jobs board right away and appears on your business profile under "They're hiring."

What happens when someone applies?

Applicants fill in their name, email, optional phone, a note, and upload a resume (PDF or Word, up to 5MB). The application goes straight to your inbox — no recruiters, no reposted listings, and no fee per applicant. You can also list an email address for candidates who'd rather send their resume directly.

Tips to hire faster

  • Post pay. It's the single biggest driver of applications.
  • Keep it short and scannable. Most seekers read job posts on their phone.
  • Respond quickly. Good local candidates are often hired within days.
  • Get verified. A Verified badge tells applicants your business is real.
  • Repost when it expires if the role is still open, so it stays fresh in "date posted" filters.
